Offering on-site childcare is a key component of effectively meeting the needs of teen parents. The Early Learning Center at New Legacy provides a high-quality, innovative model of early childhood education and care.
The center serves families with children aging from 6 weeks to 5 years, with a priority of serving the children of the parenting teens attending New Legacy Charter High School.
Our program supports the parent/child relationship through the provision of a high-quality, enriching, individualized program that offers each child a stimulating environment to learn and grow, while also nurturing and mentoring the parent on child development and positive parenting strategies.
The center serves as a learning lab where New Legacy students learn about healthy child development and positive parenting and then work in collaboration with the early learning center teachers in the classrooms. The program employs highly qualified teachers who are committed to building nurturing relationships with children while providing them with a rich and stimulating learning environment. These teachers also serve an important dual role by educating and mentoring New Legacy students on child development and early learning. Families and teachers build strong relationships based on mutual respect and trust.
Lifelong Benefits of Quality Early Care
There is a considerable body of evidence that supports the importance and impact of quality early learning environments. If we are committed to truly helping our young families create new legacies for their children, we must ensure that the children we are serving can grow and be nurtured in an environment that supports the best possible life outcomes.
