Get Involved

We need educators, volunteers, and donors to help us make our vision come to life. See below for ways to be involved. If you need more information, contact us.

Volunteer

Have you thought about volunteering with New Legacy? We have several opportunities throughout the year to work directly with students, offer behind-the-scenes support, and/or make a financial contribution to support our two generations of learners.

Join A Board Committee

We have five board committees focused on different aspects of school operations, all of which are seeking new members. These committees are Finance, Academic Excellence, Early Childhood Education, Development, and Enrollment. If you are interested in joining a committee or want to learn more, please contact Steven Bartholomew.

Sit on an Exhibition Panel

Each quarter, our students participate in Exhibitions in which they present their work to staff, families, fellow students, and volunteers. This is an opportunity for students to showcase their learning in a supportive environment, helping them gain confidence and essential skills. We regularly hear from volunteers who tell us how impressed they are with our students’ presentations and how much they learn from these Exhibitions. We are looking for volunteers from the community who can sit in on Exhibitions (held in October, December, March, and May) and give feedback to students following their presentations. To get on the invite list to be a volunteer for Exhibitions, email Sara Kahn.

Offer A Real-World Learning Experience

New Legacy’s Real-World Learning program gives students meaningful, relevant experiences that they can carry into their lives after graduation no matter what path they choose. We now have a school-wide internship program and are seeking mentors for our students. If you—or any professionals you know—are interested in mentoring a student two days a week, please reach out to Bemar Martinez. A few hours a week can be life-changing for a young person.

Attend Our Annual Breakfast

Each spring, we host an annual fundraising breakfast that celebrates our students and raises funds that allow us to continue serving them. You won’t want to miss our inspiring student speakers—they are always a hit! This year, our celebration will be on May 9, 2024. More information to come!
