When Destiny became pregnant, she knew she needed a change from the big high school she was attending. After Destiny had her daughter Camila, they both enrolled at New Legacy. That one decision has made a world of difference for this mom and daughter.
While the first week at New Legacy was hard (like any new beginning), Destiny felt reassured since Camila was just down the hall in the ELC. Destiny did not feel her previous school challenged her or prepared her, but at New Legacy, “the staff are amazing because they help you, teach you, and have patience. They are basically like a second parent!” Destiny will graduate in October and will be attending CrossPurpose for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), then for Labor and Delivery. “Without New Legacy, I might not know what I would do.”
And Destiny knows Camila will be ready for preschool and kindergarten, thanks to her ELC teachers. The teachers help Camila learn so much. “At just two years old, she is doing the ABCs while washing her hands!”. Destiny says she loves how the ELC teachers take their time with Camila.
When asked to share words of advice for other students, Destiny says, “Never give up, no matter the drama (you are dealing with). Don’t be scared to ask for help because the teachers will always be there.”
