When Ivon had her daughter Mia, she decided to attend online school. She knew she wanted to graduate and be a good example for her daughter. However, trying to take care of an infant on her own while attending school (even online) was incredibly difficult. Her Parent Support Provider at Safecare recommended New Legacy. After three years here, Ivon graduated in from New Legacy in May 2026!
Ivon epitomizes hard work. Not only is she in school every day with Mia, but she also works six nights a week at Target! With an interest in small business, she has an internship with GGirls Closet, exploring all facets of business and marketing. Her favorite class is parenting, and she loves how every week there is a parenting lab where she works with her daughter to learn new parenting skills. The Early Learning Center teachers support mother and daughter every step of the way. Ivon says, “All of Mia’s teachers have helped in so many ways, including learning numbers, her ABCS, and potty-training.”
After graduation, Ivon will attend college to pursue a degree in business, teaching, or ultrasound technology. She says, “I love how the school is preparing you for the future; they push you to do better and don’t let you give up on your dreams.”
